Accounting Manager

Do you have 3+ years of management experience as a CPA in a public accounting firm? If so, please read below!

What will you be doing?

- Primarily responsible for ensuring a 5 business day close
- Responsible for creating the closing calendar
- Coordinate closing activities with all operational and financial staff
- Ensure deadlines are met, work thru roadblocks
- Create and/or review journal entries maintain journal entry records
- Create and/or review account analysis ensure that all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and reconciling items properly dispositioned
- Evaluate, record and account for all aspects of the Company's revenue including contract accounting
- Advance knowledge in accounting for long-term contracts (SOP 81-1)
- Responsible for maintaining budgets, forecasts in the financial systems
- Responsible for evaluating and documenting variances between budget, forecast and actuals
- Accumulate all information, tables, schedules, etc. necessary for month-end reporting package, cash forecast, bank reporting, budgeting, etc.
- Prepare supporting schedules for tax returns and estimated taxes
- Prepare all year-end audit schedules, provide support to auditors
- Demonstrate experience in FASB interpretation, financial statement preparation including footnote preparation
- Assist CFO and Controller in special projects as necessary
- Excellent writing skills to assist in maintaining SOX documentation
- Manage and develop staff - Senior Accountant and AP Clerk(s)

What do you need?

- 3+ years experience as a CPA within a public accounting firm
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related major
- Strong technical accounting and research skills
- Strong systems skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented, pro-active and independent with the ability to multi-task
- Management/supervisory experience
- Direct experience with revenue recognition and percentage of completion accounting
