JOB STATEMENT: Under general direction of the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial statements and general ledger accounts balances.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: - Participate in operational/team discussions as it relates to changes in operation work flows or the development of new products or features to ensure the integrity of the financial statements are maintained. - Supervise an Accounting and Finance staff, including performance management, goal settings and development. - Manage the financial statements and general ledger accounts at a business unit level to ensure the statements are accurate, timely and complete, as well as consistent with the overall structure of the La Macchia Enterprises financial statement format and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as consistently applied. - Train Financial Reporting and Financial Analysts on how entries are made, the work flow and the system backup for those entries. - Develop monthly journal entries necessary to complete monthly financial statements and review data to ensure the financials are complete and that all major deviations between months, budget vs. actual and forecast can be explained. - Reconcile and perform a supervisory review of complex general ledger accounts. - Assist in developing best practices. - Assist in annual operating budget. - Maintain existing internal control procedures, recommend and assist in implementing control enhancements to support a strong control environment.


EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4-year degree in accounting or finance required, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an accounting environment preferred.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: - Proficient in Excel and Word. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices. - Strong analytical skills, with problem solving capabilities. - Thorough, accurate and detailed-minded. - Ability to work under pressure to meet time-sensitive deadlines. - Ability to work unsupervised, strong self-starter. - Understanding of GAAP. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Ability to successfully lead and develop people.
