Director Of Internal Audit

Overall Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all facets of the internal audit function, with primary responsibility for Sarbanes Oxley support and financial, operational and compliance audits. Between 0 to 25% travel may be required, depending on the project.

Specific duties include:
Plan the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Preparation of a company risk assessment and the annual internal audit plan.
Plan, oversee and conduct financial, operational, compliance and IT audits.
Create audit reports and communicate findings to management.
Review monthly financial statements to effectively manage team expenses and achieve company profit goals.
Monitor management’s achievement of action plans from prior audits.
Identify areas of opportunity for profit improvement or cost control.
Plan and execute special projects assigned by the Audit Committee and/or senior management.
Foster collaborative relationships across all lines of management.
Periodically meet with the external auditors to ensure optimal audit coverage and an efficient, economical coordination of efforts.



Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA required.
CIA candidates will be given preference.
Public experience preferred, but not required.
Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates, and superiors across many departments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
Ability to think strategically and assist the organization and management in identifying operational efficiencies.
