Primary Function:
Responsible for all accounting and financial functions for the Lake States Region. Primarily responsible for accurate monthly financial reporting, coordination of the planning function, adherence and compliance with company financial policies and procedures, and assistance in helping the business be more profitable. Coordinates special projects related to process improvement and systems implementation. Handles all resources accounting issues for the Lake States Region in connection with external and internal audits. Manages all documentation and testing for key accounting controls associated with timber and timberlands for this respective region.
Education Required:
Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics or related discipline. MBA or Masters degree and professional certification (preferred).
Experience Required:
At least four years GL closing and two years planning, budgeting, supervision, financial analysis and business support. Two years forest product accounting experience (preferred).
Specific Skills Required:
Strong interpersonal, writing and leadership skills. Professional understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP). Must have general knowledge in areas such as account reconciliation, AP and AR. Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) to provide and obtain accurate information in an effective manner. Strong computer application skills including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint and data query tools. Resources settlement system experience preferred.
Comments: This position will require moderate travel (approximately 15% on average).
