Sr. Tax Accountant

Complete moderately complex accounting procedures and prepare financial reports consistent with regulatory and company requirements. Review and analyze financial reports to interpret and explain financial results.
Essential Accountabilities:
Prepare and review income tax returns. Coordinate preparation of tax return process.
Establish, review, and analyze tax accruals to ensure accuracy.
Research complex tax issues, summarize findings, determine impacts on the Company, and make recommendations.
Prepare, coordinate, and review current and deferred tax accounting.
Coordinate and oversee special projects. Direct other individuals in assisting on projects, and review results.
Identify, analyze, and resolve tax issues, as needed, including unusual or unique issues and/or circumstances.
Assist in ensuring that processes within assigned areas are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
Improve processes within the Company to increase the level and quality of service provided to internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or its equivalent and continuing education related to the job.
Five or more years of related tax preparation and research experience with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities.
CPA certification.
Proficient with PC's and applicable software.
Comprehensive knowledge of FAS 109 deferred tax accounting and corporate tax returns.
Fundamental knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation, statutory and GAAP accounting, and IRS and state audit risks.
