Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by creating the tangible results of a concept. Collaborates with director of design, business managers, program managers, project managers and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and program or requirements to make the concept come to life. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.


Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Collaborates with cross-functional teams and other key stakeholders to meet project objectives and develops executions for multiple design concepts.
Collaborates with third-party vendors, consultants and designers.
Creates solutions for architectural concepts and specifications for stores that meet stated business objectives (operational and financial), promotes company identity and enhances the Starbucks experience for the consumer.
Documents and disseminates information about key learnings and best practices to team members.
Produces executable drawings and three-dimensional views of proposed design solutions that adhere to Starbucks design methodology using computer-aided design software and creates multiple solutions to business and consumer needs.
Stays abreast on trends in the field and in touch with the market.


Qualifications
Summary of Experience


High-end commercial design development (5 years)
Management of various design projects and operations (5 years)
Production of construction documents (5 years)
Retail design (5 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects
Ability to communicate design concepts visually through sketching, drawings and three-dimensional modeling, and through oral presentation
Working knowledge of three-dimensional software (Form Z) and graphics software (Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop)
Working knowledge of CAD drafting using Microstation or AutoCAD software
Ability to influence, consult and negotiate
