The Associate Designer will create designs and graphical elements for ABC.com with the goal of enhancing the experience of website content in ways that exploit the interactivity and unique attributes of the online medium. The ideal candidate we seek will be directly responsible for the updating of our graphical web content and be comfortable with all aspects of web design from production work to Flash design. He/she should be highly creative, motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Candidate should be capable of a wide stylistic range and enjoy a variety of projects. Candidate must be able to prototype quickly, brainstorm and discuss ideas easily. Responsibilities will include development of site artwork including home page, show pages, newsletters and graphics. He/she will be working closely with the senior designer, editorial, technical, video and marketing departments.

Candidate should have very solid design experience, combined with a well-developed online skill set (HTML knowledge, online image processing, Flash components, etc). Expert Photoshop skills a must, and design skills with layout and graphics programs a definite plus. Candidate should also demonstrate strong organizational skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced editorial environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:


BA/BFA degree Graphic Design/graphic arts or

Minimumof 2 years experience in design studio or agency

Proven experience in current print and web design (e.g. Graphic Arts degree or similar experience)

Understanding offundamental design principles such as UI, color theory, layout, and typography

Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and creativity

Familiarity with common web standards and technologies

Photoshop/ImageReady, Illustrator, Flash 8, InDesign, Acrobat

Strong Production experience
