Book Search Operations Technician - Palo AltoThis position is based in Palo Alto, CA.

This is an excellent entry level opportunity to build and support the physical infrastructure for the Book Search Project. We are looking for individuals who want to work on a team with highly motivated, talented people that are striving each day to advance their skills. Technician to support the installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of equipment at scanning locations.

Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair equipment failures.
On-call support.
Track using repair ticket system.
Install scripts and other software as needed.
Build-out and maintain all hardware equipment.
Perform planned preventative maintenance activities.
Track failure rates and maintain spares logs and re-order equipment as necessary.
Track and report on machine down-time; troubleshoot and escalate issues as appropriate.
Set-up and maintain computer equipment.
Support offsite locations with either visits or remote Support. Skills and Requirements:
AA degree or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum 2 years working with PC hardware: Physical set-up of PC and peripherals.
Basic Network knowledge.
Experienced with troubleshooting and maintaining Mechanical systems, in particular imaging equipment.
Experienced with troubleshooting and installing operating systems and other software preferred.
Basic Linux/Unix knowledge.
Ability to write simple software scripts.
Knowledge of basic Electronics.
