Book Search Production Specialist - Palo AltoThis position is based in Palo Alto, CA.

Google has one of the most advanced and innovative operations environments on the planet. This is an individual contributor position providing industrial engineering, production layout, and production/supply chain process development to support Book Search center deployments. In addition, this specialist will utilize mechanical design experience or skills with CAD design to define equipment and layouts, often working with key vendors. We are looking for individuals who want to work on a team with highly motivated, talented people that are striving each day to advance their skills.

Responsibilities:
Production process and equipment layout.
Space assessment for best layout utilization.
Develop and document key process flows; create standard operating procedures.
Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of hardware systems, applications, and facilities for the department.
Develop materials handling processes, storage, and inventory management systems.
Participate and oversee station builds.
Work with suppliers to ensure part compliance.
Sustaining Engineering on existing equipment.
Implement reliable and efficient material handling systems. Additional Responsibilities:
May coordinate special projects for the department, as assigned.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Research the purchase of equipment or upgrade to existing equipment.
Troubleshoot problems with production and take corrective action.
Coordinates facility changes, moves, upgrades.
Support development engineers with process tasks, experiment trials, etc. Requirements:
BA or advanced degree in operations research, manufacturing, process or related industrial engineering program.
2-5 years experience in related industry.
Prefer skilled with CAD/Computer tools, programming, database tools.
Familiarity with supply chain and/or logistics processes.
Document control or related experience.
