Disney Consumer Products- Burbank/Toys

Responsibilities:

Understand the category strategic direction, and insure its application to the submitted designs
Ensure licensee product lines reflect Disney quality and branding objectives
Product Development
Supports and/or is responsible for low to medium complexity design projects
Creative contact for specific properties and/or categories
Character design expert on specific properties
Take ownership of OPA, including creative revisions, uploading and downloading, detailed comments, and prioritizing approvals within allotted time
Help Category associate present licensee concepts at Concept Review
Provide licensees with creative input
Participate internal product development meetings with Disney category groups
Coordinate with ProjectManagement group on new projects and scheduled deadlines
Working knowledge of licensees production and creative capabilities and limitations
Facilitate product management group with visual assets for brainstorms
Help facilitatecategory group with visuals for presentations, line reviewsand focus tests
Responsible for managing vendors
Responsible for coordinating with RSM on new design programs
Responsible for testing contractual samples
Administrative
Works under direct supervision
Direct counterpart to Category Associate, or equivalent
Communicate withinternal category counterparts, finance, marketing and retail teams as well as cross line-of -business product teams
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience or demonstrated interest in Product Design, Illustration, Animation
* B.A. or 2 years Technical College in a related field recommended or
* 2 years related work experience
* High level of interest in toys
* High level of interest in Disney intellectual property
* Highly detail-oriented
* Self-starter, motivated and proactive
* Solid presentation skills
* Good computer skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, 3D modeling)
* Friendly, people oriented team player
*Able to handle multiple tasks and assignments. Design expert for toy products; i.e. play patterns, product design
* Storytelling capability - able to integrate characters into product appropriately
* Able to clearly communicate and present vision/ideas
