Overview
The Director of Third Party Development leads the effort to build successful third party programs across LeapFrog product lines with purpose of:

· Driving penetration and ubiquity of LeapFrog platforms
· Expanding breadth/appeal of library by recruiting hot titles and brands
· Creating an attractive third party business - driving incremental profits with minimal investment and risk

Seeking experienced, high-energy individual to identify, develop and manage third party development partners across LeapFrog product line (Leapster handheld video game, FLY pentop computer, other platforms); individual will be responsible for negotiating and developing successful partnerships with third party publishers and maintaining ongoing relations. Individual will help identify and build internal resources necessary to support program: software developer's creativity in expanding third party program and nature of partnerships to further grow business benefits for LeapFrog and publishers collectively.

Duties & Responsibilities

Identify business opportunities with third-party developers, which can be translated in partnerships that create high quality products, revenue and profit for the company.

Develop comprehensive business plans that articulate the best opportunities, identify potential partners, set priorities, analyze investment versus return, and define a clear and articulate action plan for realizing opportunities in creating successful third party program.

Negotiate business terms and legally sound contracts with third-party developers and maintain existing contracts.

Help build internal resources and infrastructure to effectively support and advance third party program: software developer's tools, training, support resources.

Effectively manage ongoing third-party relationships and serve as a liaison between third-party developers and internal management and teams.

Define overall third-party development visions, strategies and business plan.

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent relationship-building, business and strategic skills in building successful partnerships

Assertive negotiation skills with a track record of positive results and impact on company ROI


Technology conversant (ideally hands-on experience) in Java and C++ software development environments


Education & Training

At least 10 years progressive experience in developing and launching successful software products (both first-party and third-party titles)

3 or more of those years in managerial product development roles with at least 5 years proven business development experience, resulting in multiple successful business partnerships with third-party partners
Experience in owning and delivering against P&L targets - accurate forecasting and execution against plan
MBA preferred
