Overview

Writes and edits educational content for print-based and interactive products, such as teachers' manuals, guides, and technology-based curriculum. Works collaboratively with marketing staff, producers, experts, and consultants to ensure pedagogical soundness, grade-level appropriateness, and adherence to LeapFrog standards across assorted product lines. Duties & Responsibilities

Participates in the planning and development of interactive and print-only materials, working under the direction of an Executive Editor and working collaboratively with team members both internally and externally.

Writes, reviews, and/or edits content for interactive and print-only materials, as assigned, for pedagogical soundness and grade-level appropriateness.

Supports producers in the development of interactive design as required.

Collaborates with freelance writers, development houses, production firms, etc., as assigned.

Performs writing, copy editing, and proofreading, as required.

Stays up-to-date on current research, trends, and pedagogy


Job Qualifications

Extensive writing experience is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have successfully published articles and/or books in the field of education.

Three+ years publishing or writing experience working on either basal or supplemental educational materials is required.

Deep knowledge of pedagogy and educational publishing trends, especially in grades K-8, is required.

Bacherlor's degree with teaching experience; Master's degree preferred

Elementary or early childhood teaching experience is required.

Experience in design of interactive learning experiences is desired, but not required.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment is required.
