PC Application Producer-Contract

Job Description:

Overview
Product manager and application designer for interactive educational software products. Requires the ability to self-motivate and self-manage with the aptitude to research, design and produce quickly. Must have knowledge of PC application design and integration with software products. The ideal associate producer candidate is able to design and drive a team to project completion in a fast-paced environment with numerous production groups.

Duties & Responsibilities

Product Management: Work with Marketing and production staff to develop product vision and manage and execute all aspects of the development process for interactive applications: Design, UI standards, design documentation, schedules, budgets, production, software implementation, product presentations, approvals and testing in a timely manner.

Design and Software Development: Design different segments of a PC application. Adhere to requirements and standards put forth by marketing, UI, technical and production teams.

Project Management: Lead production effort. Enforce requirements and resolve technical-design conflicts. Manage a team and coordinate amongst various groups, including software and hardware integration.

Communication and Testing: Coordinate, attend and facilitate usability testing to ensure age appropriateness and engagement of applications. Prepare and lead project presentations to executive staff and others. Communicate with production group and project lead about issues and plans.


Knowledge & Skills

Strong UI/design sense and experience creating usable, kid-friendly interfaces.

Design and production experience on a consumer PC application/client a must.

Self-motivated with strong leadership and organization skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Seriously.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams and to learn quickly about various
technologies and production processes.

Experience with one or more of the following a plus: pc communication with embedded
devices, pc-web integration, character recognition, library applications, downloadable
content.

Knowledge of Flash, video production a plus.


Education & Training

Bachelor's Degree or higher

At least 2 years work experience in multimedia, product management, or PC applications.
