Sr. Web Site Designer
Position Type: Temporary to Full Time
This individual must be able to take direction and work across departments with mid- to senior-level business managers. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable presenting to business executives. The Sr. Web Designer will be an expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. He or she will be comfortable driving the design direction and collaborating with product managers and programmers to create the best possible creative concepts and solutions. Candidates should have a minimum of 5+ years' experience working in a design capacity at a web agency, software company, or other web-based business.
Designs and implements solutions within the context of high-level design, business, and user requirements and constraints based on business and functional requirements, audience needs, and tasks.
Creates and delivers design layouts, production-ready art, specifications, and other deliverables as necessary to engineering and production teams.
Develops creative solutions for a wide range of projects across a broad range of media including web, print, and interactive media.
Establishes look and feel, navigation schemes, and layouts for everything interactive: web, banners, popups, landing pages, email campaigns, etc.
Responsible for overall creative quality.
Develops design and style guidelines.

Requirements
Bachelors degree in fine arts or graphic design.
Familiarity with the technological abilities and limitations of dynamically generated web sites.
Prior experience in the design and development of large, content-heavy websites.
Familiarity with CMS applications and the ability to understand and translate technical requirements into effective design solutions.
Excellent communications skills and organized.
Hands-on experience developing designs for the web with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a design capacity at a web agency, software company, or other web-based business.
Familiarity with HCI.
Extensive knowledge of web design fundamentals including user-centered design, information design, visual design, and industry UI standards; must have knowledge of current usability standards and online best user experience practices.
Understanding of user research, web metrics, and software/web processes.
Expert hands-on knowledge of design and web production tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, HTML, CSS).
Solid understanding of typography, photography, and illustration.
Expertise in several of the following areas: advertising, collateral, identity, interactive design, direct marketing/e-marketing.
Ability to manage multiple projects, estimate/manage time accurately and effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
