Summary of Position
The RenderMan Products Group is responsible for the development and support of Pixar's world-renowned rendering software. We are seeking a RenderMan Studio Support Engineer to act as front line support for the customers of our software. This role is responsible for interacting with principle technical leads at large customer sites and the RenderMan development team to provide the highest quality of studio support.
Responsibilities
-Respond to studio's queries and track open support requests.
-Administer the customer support website and forums.
-Isolate, debug, test, and verify bug fixes as they are reported.
-Help studios identify performance issues and pipeline bottlenecks.
-Provide feedback on the consistency and usability of new features.
-Act as an advocate for the desired features and bug fixes from studio customers.
-As an experienced user of the software, provide training and assistance for studio customers.
-Help prepare and deliver documentation, release notes, and presentations.
Requirements
-Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
-Knowledge of 3D computer graphics: RenderMan, OpenGL
-Experience with Windows, Linux, and Macintosh computing environments
-Experience with popular modeling and animation packages: Maya, XSI, 3dMax
-Experience with software development: C, C++, debugging, code management
-Experience with bug tracking and website management tools
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
-Willingness to take initiative and resolve complex problems
-Ability to work in all levels of the organization
-Ability to work well independently within a fast paced, dynamic, deadline oriented environment
-Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and developers
-Some Travel Required
