Summary
This position is responsible for the approval of all credit requests exceeding the authority of the various loan production units, and continuing review and management of the loan production unit's loan portfolios. Ensures credit policies are applied in all areas of credit underwriting. Communicates issues involving items such as: credit policy, loan documentation, and credit quality.


Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Approving business and related loans within approved authorities.
-Ensuring conformity with bank policies and procedures.
-Assisting relationship managers with structuring of individual loan transactions.
-Monitoring and reviewing loan production unit's loan underwriting and portfolio management performance.
-Communicates and interacts with Bank staff to produce effective procedures and workflow and to ensure quality service levels are maintained.
-May be responsible for preparing or reviewing reports provided to senior management regarding portfolio performance.
-Interfacing with internal and external auditors and regulators.


Qualifications
-Thorough knowledge of business banking activities; including but not limited to cash flow analysis, loan documentation, collateral analysis, and problem loan strategies and legal issues that are relevant.
-Complete familiarity with credit policy and its components.
-Knowledgeable of fair lending issues, rules and various regulations that directly impact the commercial lending areas.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to assess and manage credit risk.
-Knowledge of real estate and trade finance lending.
Mathematical Skills
-Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamental algebraic principles.
-Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
-Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial analysis, tax return and cash flow analysis and the creation and interpretation of financial spreadsheets.
-Working knowledge of time/money valuation analysis including discounting and amortization.
-A working understanding of valuation models and real property appraisal methodology.

Education and Experience
-Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree is a plus.
