Construction Coordinator

Manage a fast-track construction process in the central US.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Represent IdleAire in a professional manner at construction projects and related functions.

Review change order procedures, contract issues, drawings

Establish and maintain travel schedule to ensure cost efficiency.

Verify construction layouts prior to actual start - report discrepancies.

Make notice of unique site issues that were present prior to construction.

Review bids from Contractors to make sure everything is included in original scope of work.

Make sure that each Contractor has a current Certificate of Insurance on file.

Establish schedule for pre-construction meetings onsite w/ General Contractor Define - schedule.

Perform onsite inspections

Make sure that utility locator service has been contacted and that utilities are identified prior to starting construction.

Make sure that Contractor has adequate manpower onsite.

Communicate w/ Owner's representative

Establish and maintain construction checklist

Publish and maintain construction schedule.

Assure that open ditches and excavations are properly protected and barricaded at the end of each day.

Make sure that sites are properly barricaded/ clean, free of excess construction debris.

Notify everyone when schedules change.

Work to resolve field issues with local Building Officials.

Work out field changes/construction changes as they occur.

Relay construction issues/changes to Design Coordinator for incorporation into plans.

Monitor directional boring procedures

Monitor pier/column/truss erection

Assure quality control and maintain cost efficiency.

Maintain picture file as construction projects progress.

Complete written construction reports.

Coordinate equipment ordering/delivery schedule and accompanying paperwork.

Work with Procurement Department Personnel to ensure timely equipment deliveries.

Coordinate activities with Local Utility Companies/Phone Companies.

Coordinate delivery and installation of electrical gear with Utility Company's equipment installation

Stay in constant communication with Construction Manager

Coordinate delivery and placement of Telco building and storage trailer.

Constantly look for Contractors capable of performing this kind of work.

Establish and maintain lines of communication with Operations.

Assure correct color and application of striping

Train and monitor correct installation and alignment of hose assemblies.

Make sure that building permit is onsite and that Contractor has obtained all required licenses and Certificate of Occupancy.

Make sure that everything is ready for commissioning team, prior to them arriving.

Assist Operations with completion forecast.

Assure construction completion on time and under budget.

Review pay request to ensure that work has been completed prior to authorizing.


Qualifications


Must be able to travel during the week.


Construction Supervisor or similar experience.


Basic computer skills using Outlook, Word, Excel.
