OPERATION MANAGER TRAINEE
Ever want to run your own fitness club? Our Operations Manager Trainee program is a fast paced training that can get you one step closer. Our Operations Managers keep our clubs clean, fully stocked and financially sound. Prior management experience required.
Experience in a retail environment preferred and a love for fitness is a must!
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Operations Manager Trainee (OMT) completes all Setting-the-Pace training programs and prerequisites as designed. After completing the training, the OMT operates a club to solidify skills learned during training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training
- Complete prerequisites per the OMT Training Roadmap
- Complete OMT Core Training Modules
Club Operations
- Maintain a professional and clutter free club and office.
- Complete tasks outlined in the District Operations Manager, Weekly Playbook, Club Operations Planner, and CIAB.
- Resolve major member concerns (e.g., dues, membership cancellations, etc.) and update the Member Concern Binder daily.
- Establish goals for front desk team (i.e., apparel and accessories, drinks, supplements and ancillary income). Track daily and monthly goal progress.
- Audit GMS TI/Guest entries weekly and ensure proper guest fees are collected.
- Complete Incident Reporting On-Line.
- Maintain club binders (e.g., Lost and Found, 24 Hour Way Reference Guide, National Bulletin, Group X, Maintenance, etc.).
- Identify needs by position (i.e., club hours and employee availability) and work with recruiter to fill positions.
- Participate in hiring decisions and completion of hiring paperwork.
- Observe employee coaching sessions
- Conduct training using STP training programs, complete documentation, and audit the training process (i.e., STP Board, Active List Report, employee files, validate behavior).
- Monitor janitorial labor and supplies, and supplies budget vs. actual.
Other duties and responsibilities
- Attend required club staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Trainer or District Operations Manager.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Duties require interaction with all club employees, managers, corporate staff, club members and guests, District Managers, Vice Presidents, and outside vendors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.

Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State, and local labor laws, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Minimum certifications/educational level:
- High school diploma
Minimum experience:
- Minimum one year of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Retail experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Daily duties require daily walking, sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching.
