Our Fitness Manager Trainee's have the ability to make fitness a way of life. At 24 Hour Fitness our fitness team help get members involved with the benefits of health and fitness. The Fitness Manager Trainee initially rotates from club to club to learn/train from the best. They are then assigned their own club and is responsible for day to day supervision, management and quality of the club's Fitness department. They are responsible for the overall operation of the workout floor and driving the Personal Training, Supplements and 24/5 programs to exceed their monthly revenue goals. 24 Hour Fitness is the industry leader in training and continuing education classes. Prior experience is preferred but not required and a love for fitness is a must!
GENERAL SUMMARY: Fitness Managers (FMs) are responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience both personally and through the supervision of Personal Trainers. FM's lead, manage and train Floor Instructors and Personal Trainers. FMs are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to Supplements and Certified Personal Trainer Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hire, train & develop all club level Fitness Staff
- Interview all potential Personal Trainers.
- Set up second interviews with the District Fitness Manager.
- Take all new employees through In Club Training.
- Enroll all new employees in Certified Personal Trainer class.
- Identify career minded individuals who wish to grow with the company and develop their skills for advancement.
- Ensure club is adequately staffed and not over staffed.
- Continue to train team on industry updates and standards
- Coach Personal Trainers to be successful
Customer Service
- Ensure that all clients are trained professionally
- Alleviate any client concerns in a timely and respectful manner.
- Ensure that clients are getting results.
Attain & Exceed All Revenue & Budget Goals
- Ensure Personal Trainers are productive, that they have goals set to attain company goals
- Be available to help TFP's and Counselors get members involved in CPT
- Ensure that all 5 components of fitness are present in all client programs
- Schedule all TFP's according to company set budgets
Manage Hourly Budget
- Stay within monthly/hourly employee budgets for fitness.
- Ensure that there is no overtime worked by any Fitness employee outside of company guidelines.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: The Fitness Manager will report directly to the District Fitness Manager. Fitness Manager must also communicate daily with the Sales Manager & Operations Manager to prepare for the daily activities. Reporting directly to the Fitness Manager is the entire Fitness Staff. All Floor Instructors and Personal Trainer's will filter all issues through the Fitness Manager. The Fitness Manager will communicate and enforce all 24 Hour Fitness Policy and Procedures with the Fitness Staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Basic computer literacy
- Technical understanding of Personal Training technique from assessment to program design.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Demonstrate great leadership abilities
- Great time management skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be adaptive
- Ability to manage up to 20 Personal Trainer's & their schedules
- Ability to teach others
2) Minimum certifications/educational level:
- High School Diploma, four year degree preferred
- CPR Certified
- Certification from organization recognized by 24 Hour Fitness (AFAA, ACSM, ACE, BSMI, Cooper, NCSF, NASM, NSCA, ISSA)
- 4 year Degree in a related field recognized by 24 Hour Fitness (Athletic Training, Chiropractic, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Fitness Management, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Nutrition, Physical Education, Physical Therapy, Sports Management, Sports Medicine)
3) Minimum experience:
- 6 months supervisory company experience preferred.
4) Physical Requirements:
- Physical effort required to carry out daily duties, lifting weights, bending, squatting, spotting, and reaching.
- Light travel required for monthly meetings.
