Forecasting Analyst Intern
Location: Tucson, AZ

Intuit's Consumer Tax Group is seeking a graduate student to intern with our Forecasting team. This internship provides the opportunity to gain practical experience and learn from experts in the field. You will have the chance to perform in-depth forecast analysis and present your findings to senior leaders. We are looking for a student that can commit to 20 hours per week for the next six months and would be interested in transitioning to a full-time position upon graduation in Spring 2007.

Responsibilities:

The forecasting analyst intern will be responsible for building and modeling contact volume forecasts for CTG Service Delivery.

Essential Job Functions:
-Consult with various Consumer Tax Group teams including marketing, finance, web group and order-to-cash to develop contact volume forecast modeling approaches and variance analysis.
-Track model/analysis results and summarize and interpret findings to stakeholders, handling questions and suggesting additional models and analyses where possible.
-Perform simulated testing of multiple contact center variables, using mathematical simulation analysis to prepare better operational plans that optimize resource efficiency, identify optimal channel mix, minimize missed service levels and reduce overall cost per contact.
-Help with ad-hoc reporting to management and challenging projects within the Service Delivery organization.

Qualifications :
Candidate will be working towards a graduate degree; math, statistics or engineering preferred.
Able to work 20 hours per week for six months.

Knowledge & Skills required:
-Strong understanding in Time Series and other forecasting methodologies
-Ability to conduct a statistical analysis and answer business questions based on quantitative models
-Experience with statistical software packages as Minitab or SAS
-Ability to build quantitative models using spreadsheets and databases and working with large data sets
-Work experience in customer service environment is a plus
-Strong communication skills (written and oral)
-Ability to work with a wide range of people at various levels
-High level of enthusiasm

A strong plus:
-Ability to work with simulation modeling packages to model the contact center environment
-Programming skills in Visual Basic
