Reporting to the VP of HR, the HR Director will provide HR business leadership to senior management and support multiple client groups across the La Jolla campus with focus on Research and Early Development. The scope includes developing and implementing effective human resources strategies and processes to support overall business objectives, including:
· Organizational design and effectiveness
· Change management and Culture development· Employee relations
· Talent acquisition and retention
· Employee development
· Performance management
· Succession planning/ talent management
· Leadership and team development· Compensation

The HR Director will lead processes / interventions to effect change and increase organizational effectiveness in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. It will be important to promote positive business and organizational outcomes through design, communication and interpretation of personnel policies and programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required or advanced degree is a plus with a minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible HR experience is required. Ability to consult with, challenge, and influence senior management to align people, processes, and practices with business objectives.
Must have strong business process and customer focus.
Demonstrated critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
Results oriented with strong track record of success in delivering on objectives.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple, concurrent priorities with many needing immediate resolution.
Experience in the Health Care industry is highly desirable.Significant leadership and managerial level experience in Human Resources. Experience in line management may also be helpful. HR generalist experience in several of the following areas: talent management/succession planning, change management, performance management, employee relations, compensation, leadership development, and training.Experience managing and developing professionals required, with management of managerial level employees helpful.Strong record of driving organizational change, delivering results, and high performance.
