Senior Instructional Designer
Primary Responsibilities :
§ Demonstrated skill using adult learning theory in the creation of training materials, which may include, whole task modeling, learner-centered instruction, action learning methods and feedback, and remediation techniques.
§ Experience developing classroom training, self-paced instruction and technology-based (TBT) training
§ Exceptional written / verbal language and grammar skills
§ Classroom training experience in relevant domain that may include technology, sales, or leadership learning activities
§ Proficient in course authoring tools (both ILT and TBT) such as HTML, Dreamweaver, and Coursebuilder, Outstart Trainer and Outstart Evolution, Articulate, Visio.
§ Proficient in software such as Snag-It, Viewlett, Photoshop, Flash, Fireworks used to create graphics and animation, capture screen shots, and produce demonstrations
§ Basic familiarity with microcomputer hardware and operating systems (Windows & Macintosh)
§ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio, Microsoft project, and QuickBase - move to knowledge/background experience
§ Understands the capabilities of course authoring and graphics software and applies this knowledge to proficiently change* TBT design projects
§ Takes initiatives to identify and implement instructional design process improvements and implements design best practices
§ Understands problems that arise in a North American and global classroom situations and designs curriculum to minimize or prevent these problems
§ Manage multiple design/curriculum projects in a fast-paced environment through excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
§ Selects the most effective and efficient delivery medium to meet specific training objectives
§ Interprets and translates BU/FU requirements into a program/course design
§ Effectively estimates design project scope and uses DACI to identify, secure and manage the appropriate project team (appropriate subject-matter and technical experts and content accuracy decision makers) for an instructional design project
§ Creates documentation, templates, style sheets, and user interface design models for other design staff to follow
§ Plans strategic and contingency curriculum to meet organizational learning needs
§ Implements Kirkpatrick's Training Effectiveness measures (or equivalent method) to ensure training effectiveness in at least four levels: satisfaction, knowledge/skills, application, and demonstration of course/program objectives
§ Utilizes reusable learning object methodology to single source materials, improve team productivity, and material consistency
§ Utilizes information mapping to determine appropriate instructional strategies for content.
Qualifications :
§ Master's degree in instructional design technology, related field, or equivalent experience
§ Significant experience in developing, leading and implementing technical-based (TBT) design projects; Proficient in the development of programming routines to support TBT development*
§ Skilled in the creation, implementation and validation of assessments to measure the effectiveness of training to achieve business priorities
§ Significant experience in courseware development of a complex nature, demonstrating speed and efficiency of advanced instructional design
§ Experience managing end-to-end, instructional design process-based methodology (analysis, design, development, and delivery) to create curriculum programs
§ Experience managing direct reports or significant experience leading through influence to deliver results
§ Demonstrated expertise in needs assessment, test design and validation, and measurement of the effectiveness of training
