Title: Application Engineer








Assist and responsible for the design and development of consumer electronic products (DVD player/recorder, LCDTV, MP3/4 player/recorder ) from conceptual phase to mass production.
Develop and manage product specifications.
Develop and manage performance specifications and test plans.
Feasibility studies (technology screening).
System design verifications (evaluate and optimize schematics/reference designs/design proposals) to meet product design intent/performance specs.
Component evaluations (evaluate hardware component specs for suitability to design intent).
Assist and manage prototype designs and review (manage and be integrally involved in the design with third party & engineering teams in China).
Manage agency approvals and certifications (FCC, FDA, UL, HDMI, USB, DivX ).





Experience Required:


3-5 years as an Application Engineer or Electrical Engineer in a cross functional product development team for consumer electronics products. Work very much independently, and must have a natural desire to create order out of chaos and to drive problems to resolution. The candidate must also be able to adapt new technologies quickly and be able to consider user experience and marketing direction as the primary factors in designing new products. Experience in testing and in failure analysis of mass-production consumer products. Must have experience in PCB/Component design and layout; factory production/process control, and proficiency in Chinese as second language is desirable but are not required. Some international traveling may required.
