Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer
The Leggett & Platt Aluminum Group, a part of Leggett & Platt, Incorporated, a $5.3 billion Fortune 500 manufacturer, is seeking an experienced manufacturing or industrial engineer for a recently launched manufacturing facility in Auburn, Alabama. This plant is a mid-sized (200 to 300 employees) aluminum diecasting facility.
We're looking for high-energy performers with proven skills in manufacturing systems and supply chain analysis and change management. The successful candidate will be able to perform detailed analysis of manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, demonstrate the advantages of the proposed changes, and lead a team of operational professionals in the implementation of new methods. The position will be responsible for analyzing production process and material flow, developing process documentation, performing time studies, preparing capital expense justifications, and directing structured problem-solving activities.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors' degree in industrial engineering, or equivalent background in industrial engineering, and three years of practical experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in identification and resolution of manufacturing process and supply chain issues is required. A proven ability to lead teams in addressing and solving identified problems is necessary. Strong oral and written communications skills are important. Experience in developing project/business justifications, including the ability to perform project benefit analysis and ROI calculations, is desired. A background including experience in lean manufacturing environments, with experience in continuous improvement initiatives, is a plus.
