REQUIREMENTS

Unit Description:
· OB Triage - This 8-bed unit is used for the triaging of all patients and scheduled outpatient procedures.
· Labor Delivery Recovery - Within this 17-bed unit, mothers deliver their babies and recover before being transferred to Couplet Care.
· Labor and Delivery - This is an 8-bed, high-risk unit that includes 4 OR suites and a 5-bed Post-Partum Recovery area for mothers and their newborns.
· Antenatal - This 10 bed unit cares for the patient with OB complications requiring a prolonged hospital stay.
We foster a strong team environment with a supportive staff that includes 24-hour anesthesia and CRNA coverage, 24-hour Scrub Tech, Patient Care Technicians, Supply Tech and Health Unit Coordinators. In this setting, your input is vital in our efforts at continuous improvement. Computer based systems are used for charting, supply and medication management and central fetal monitoring.
Job Description :
Coordinates and supervises patient care employees; directs functioning of assigned units; acts as liaison with physicians, patients, families, and staff. Responsible for daily operation activities. Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating hospital and/or unit objectives, standards and policies pertaining to activities of nursing personnel, budget, and materials/supplies. Schedules personnel and makes patient assignments. Supervises and assists staff with work assignments and ensures timeliness and quality of service. Responds to staff needs and provides appropriate problem resolution interventions. Assists with employee hiring, training and ongoing evaluation functions. Re-enforces training and assists with disciplinary actions when necessary. Functions as inter-departmental liaison. Facilitates communication and cooperation within and between hospital units and departments. Performs direct patient care as described in Staff Nurse job description on an as-needed basis.
Minimum and Preferred Requirements :
AZ RN license. BCLS certification. Resuscitation level certificate as appropriate to assigned department. Five years RN experience with three years recent experience within assigned clinical area preferred.
