Overview:
Washakie Medical Center is a critical access hospital located in north central Wyoming at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, in the city of Worland. The hospital provides a full array of inpatient and outpatient health care services including a Level III trauma Center, state-of-the-art birthing suites, and a specialty clinic providing a wide range of care by visiting physicians.
Responsibilities:
In addition to the Registered Nurse Role Summary, the Charge Nurse is responsible for providing leadership, positive role modeling and critical thinking skills. The Charge Nurse is accountable for bridging between all areas; Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Obstetrics and Medical Surgical, and Surgical Services by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. The Charge Nurse provides leadership, positive role modeling to facilitate staff development. The Charge Nurse will proactively support quality and continuity of services throughout Washakie Medical Center.
Qualifications:
· Education/Experience:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing required.
Three years of recent clinical RN experience.
Previous supervisory experienced preferred.
Knowledge of care and resource management preferred
Demonstrates clinical competence
Knowledge of clinical standards and outcomes
· Other qualifications/certificate/license:
Current license to practice nursing in the State of WY
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification, ACLS
Other certifications such as NRP, PALS, TNCC, ENPC are helpful
Participates in 24 hours of continuing education per year.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with BHS values, management expectations, and service standards.
