Lead Nurse, Physician Triage & Support Program/RO




Primary Functions/Responsibilities:Responsible for supporting the Kaiser Permanente Triage Physician. This includes duties as designated to facilitate smooth transition of members from a nonparticipating Emergency Department or inpatient status to a participating hospital within the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Region. Coordinate transfers back into the service area of Kaiser members with acute illness or injuries sustained while traveling outside of the Georgia Region as indicated by the medical condition of the member. Locate members who have been advised to call 911 by the Kaiser Advice Nurses or Medical Center Staff.Required Competencies and Skills:-Ability to lead and effect change as necessary based on a rapidly changing healthcare market.-Results orientation skills.-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.-Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.-Excellent planning and time management skills.-Demonstrated written communication skills.-Ability to build effective working relationships with physicians and their staff, hospital, vendors, and other departments.-Ability to handle frequent change.-Ability to deal with interpersonal conflict with mature attitude.-Committed to the organization to what is necessary to have a successful Triage Physician Support Program.Required Education, Experience and Training:-Unrestricted current RN licensure in the state of Georgia required or documentation to show intent to seek license.-Valid Georgia driver?s license.-Experience with managed health care delivery including Medicare.-Minimum of three (3) years of current clinical nursing in an acute care setting, preferably in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care preferred.-Minimum of two (2) years of experience in utilization management, case management, discharge planning and quality improvement in a managed care setting preferred.-Working knowledge of all federal, state, local and regulatory requirements.-Functional knowledge of computers.Preferred Education, Experience and Training:-BS in Nursing preferred.
