REQUIREMENTS

* * Bachelor's degree or equivalent as within CLIA for high complexity testing
* * MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or equivalent as defined within CLIA


Follows procedures and performs clinical testing within regulatory guidelines.

Performs routine and specialized laboratory testing procedures. Performs testing and evaluates results on various quality control material. Identifies, labels and tracks specimens, enters test orders and test results, and obtains patient and test information using various computer programs. Evaluates and releases test results. Monitors changes in work area to ensure timely release of results and laboratory information. Processes specimens for analysis. Performs testing on proficiency material from various sources following CAP guidelines. Monitors reagents & supplies inventories and assists in ordering and stocking. Performs routine maintenance on various equipment and instruments in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and maintains records of such maintenance. Interacts with internal/external customers. Evaluates new test methodologies and instrumentation. Writes and/or modifies technical procedures. Performs technical training of new personnel/students. Assumes responsibilities of Laboratory Supervisor as requested.
