REQUIREMENTS

Our Trauma Center is Arizona's only Level 1 center verified by the American College of Surgeons and our nine critical care units serve more than 60,000 patients a year. The General Surgery department at St. Joseph's is a dynamic environment where you can pursue a highly challenging and rewarding career. Our multi-specialty department facilitates a wide range of patient procedures. Partnering with our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), we are able to offer our patients highly professional care in an environment that enhances the overall surgical/procedural experience.


The working environment:
Our eight-room OR suite maintains a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, which enables us to form close relationships with patients and their families during very difficult times. We also feature a 14-bay multi-level PACU with staff dedicated to trauma and other emergency cases. Our PACU features a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. Throughout the unit we are committed to using the latest technology, affording staff the opportunity to constantly learn and enhance their skills. As a Level I Trauma Center, we are operational 24/7. We primarily feature eight hour shifts for scheduled cases and when taking call (Call is required).

Requirements:
Ability to obtain an AZ RN License or an RN License from a Compact State (refer to www.ncsbn.org for a complete listing of Compact States) and 1 year nursing experience required, with Operating Room experience preferred. PACU nurses must be ACLS and PALS certified.
