Cruise Ship Captain

Seeking a 1600 GRT Master for Cruise Ship in Alaska!

The ship's Master has complete authority and responsibility for taking all necessary actions for the safety and security of the ship, its passengers and crew. The Master is also responsible for the prevention of pollution, and the safe navigation and efficient operation of the ship. In the execution of his/her duties, the Master will comply with the company's ISM Safety Management System, and all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and instructions.

Minimum of 2 years as Chief Mate or Captain. Additional 5 years in the Maritime industry and involved in shipboard operations. Must hold a USCG 1600 GRT Master's license with a Near Coastal endorsement.
License endorsement required for "Unlimited Radar Observer," STCW-95 Basic Safety Training, Bridge Resource Management, Advanced Fire Fighting, Medical Care Provider, ARPA and GMDSS.
Must have in-depth knowledge of passenger vessel operations.
Observed or documented managerial skills and personal traits necessary to effectively and efficiently direct ship's crewmembers in a direct and respectful manner.
Shall possess above-average skills in ship handling.
Communication skills require the ability to provide or obtain basic types of factual information or explanations.
Quantitative skills require the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric or geometric operations.
Interpersonal skills require the ability to deal with discontented, argumentative, and emotional crewmembers in irrational or illogical personal situations.
