Overview:
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital/Denali Center (FMH/DC), a non-profit facility, is owned by the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation and managed by Banner Health. Part-Time, Various days and shifts.
Responsibilities:
This position performs daily and periodic cleaning duties as scheduled by the Environmental Services Supervisor. This position may decide the order in which to clean the assigned area, taking into consideration established procedures and the traffic and use of the area. The duties of the Environmental Services Tech are clearly defined in detailed policies, procedures and practices. This position receives on the job training in the policies and procedures including equipment operation, use of cleaning solutions and proper cleaning techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Cleans and sanitizes surfaces and fixtures in an assigned area in the facility to meet established cleaning standards. Checks stock in dispensers and fills when needed. Identifies cleaning problems and determines the appropriate remedy. Insures that spills are promptly corrected and that discharges, used delivery, surgery and autopsy rooms are cleaned and sanitized within established time limits. Replaces burned out light bulbs.
Maintains glass, carpet, upholstery, walls and hard floor surfaces in a clean and aesthetically pleasing condition.
Qualifications:
The Environmental Services Tech must understand and follow cleaning procedures, understand and follow chemical use and mixing instructions, understand and properly use cleaning equipment and understand and follow special safety practices. Experience in the Custodial profession is desirable, but not necessary.
