Job Description
Directly impact the success of PDL through the timely search and selection process. Join a fast-paced, progressive HR team, in this highly visible position as Recruiter/Sr. Recruiter. You will work with scientific and technical hiring managers to understand staffing needs, creatively source for open positions, and develop proactive recruiting techniques and programs that are consistent with corporate goals, objectives, values and image. Develops creative, proactive recruiting strategies to achieve required staffing levels, including the following: - Understand the business needs of the Company and individual business units; utilize this information to develop recruiting strategies - Understand the market place and conditions that affect the recruiting function; - Act as the champion and project leader for new recruiting initiatives such as company branding, advertising campaigns and performance management. - Conduct in-depth candidate interviews/assessments to evaluate the candidate's interest, background, experience and to determine if the candidate has high performing characteristics; - Provide advice and counsel in consulting with and guiding hiring managers in comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues - Execute recruitment plan by aggressively developing and implementing diverse sourcing strategies; direct sourcing and networking to develop a qualified pool of candidates; - Establish and maintain relationships with a variety of recruiting sources. Promote PDL at a variety of recruitment functions such as job fairs, college sites, career events, and professional organizations designed to build networking database; - Provide leadership and development to junior recruiters and support staff.
Required Skills
To succeed you must have a passion for recruiting and understand how to differentiate between average and high performers. BA/BS, MS/MA/MBA in life science, business or related field Six or more years of solid recruiting experience with at least 4 years as an in house recruiter working for a growing organization. Previous experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industry is preferred, but not required. Successful candidate will have hands-on experience marketing a company in the employment marketplace. Experience selecting and managing vendors is necessary. Possess strong influencing, project management and analytical skills In addition, you will need to have the proven skills in all forms of communication, negotiation, in addition to being an innovative thinker Demonstrated ability to work in a fast changing environment and work as part of a team
