SENIOR HR GENERALIST (Tempe, AZ)
Summary
Provides day-to-day human resources support and counsel to the Customer Relations, TeleSales and TeleMarketing business units and/or functional groups covering many or most of the following areas: recruiting/staffing strategy, compensation and benefits, development and delivery of management training programs, employee and labor relations, employee communications, performance management, policy interpretation, complaint investigation and resolution, affirmative action plans, legal compliance, organizational development, safety, and employment documentation. Ensures consistent application of policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison with internal departments/divisions and/or outside organizations.
Tasks & Accountabilities
Administers core human resource processes including employment, labor and employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management and workforce planning within a specific business unit or subsidiary. Consults with leadership of the business unit or subsidiary on strategic and tactical human resources issues. Develops and recommends solutions to a variety of human resources issues. Administers approved company-wide employee relations policies and practices. Works with managers and employees to investigate and resolve employee relations issues. Consults with management regarding interpretation and administration of human resource policies, programs, procedures and compliance with applicable state/federal statutes and regulations. Coordinates, partners and delivers vendor and/or DHL-developed training courses for employees. Prepares reports and analyzes data from human resource information systems for information reporting and management decision making. Develops internal communication materials regarding benefits, compensation, and other human resources policies and procedures or other internal business issues. Conducts executive, exempt, technical, non-technical and nonexempt staffing strategy / recruiting support and counsel including sourcing, interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, preparing correspondence, and extending employment offers. May develop, recommend and implement human resource process and policy changes. May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced HR generalist staff.
Skills & Qualifications
Experienced Professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field. Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 8-11 years of experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 5-7 years of experience in related field. Professional certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred.
