Demonstrated experience in the role of an Account Manager within insurance industry
Exceptional communciation skills: verbal, written, as well as presentation skills are key within this position
Remarkable problem solving skills, using creative solutions
Highly customer focused, with a natural ability to build relationships and maintain strong client relationships year over year
3+ years of professional experience
Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
Organized, high energy, with a proactive style
Team oriented but also has the skill set to work independently and with minimal direction
Ability to seek out training for self; ability to receive and retain on-going training via on-line course work or via a conference call setting
Manage a significant block business; can demonstrate solid track record of managing a block of client business in the past
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Successful incumbents will be responsible for:
Active Participation at Pre-Sale Meetings and Finalist Presentations to communicate Service/Claims Story and address coordination of administrative processes. Effectively coordinates the implementation of sold cases and additional lines of coverage to existing accounts. Ensures timely and effective meeting with clients/brokers to obtain all necessary information and requirements for complete and accurate sold case submission. Sets appropriate expectations with clients and brokers about standard contract provisions and potential exceptions. Effectively communicates guidelines and expectations for Account Administration. Completes and submits required paperwork and documentation to Home Office in a timely and accurate manner. Effectively utilizes support staff when appropriate.
Effective Customer Service Administration / Issue resolution (liaison with underwriting, claims, billing, etc). Coordinates the day-to-day service and administrative requirements by effectively assessing customer concerns, networking with the appropriate resources and providing creative solutions to customer needs. Effectively utilizes support staff and HO customer service resources when appropriate.
Effective Pro-Active Customer / Broker Interface. Effectively plans for and schedules semi-annual meetings with clients with a specific pro-active agenda. Promotes Value-Added Services and new Hartford initiatives (AccountAbility reports, etc). Ensures contract features and benefits meet client's ongoing needs and administrative procedures. Makes recommendations for change where appropriate. Keeps abreast of client's changing benefits/HR needs/corporate landscape (mergers & acquisitions). Identifies and coordinates annual enrollment activity/communication requirements. Actively supports Book of Business growth objectives by identifying and pursuing opportunities for new and/or increased lines of coverage in conjunction with the sales rep. Partners with Sales Reps to educate and develop relationships with Brokers and their staff.
Effective Renewal Coordination / evaluation / presentation. Coordinates renewal requirements for assigned cases working with the sales rep, support staff and other internal support disciplines including Claims and Underwriting with the objective of ensuring successful renewal process and outcome.
