Claims Data Analyst
The Claims Data Analyst designs and deploys approved reporting requests from Claims Management Team and Business Lines. Provides analysis on information contained in reports and escalates/communicates issues to business leaders. The Data Analyst works with requestors to discover business facts and rules and then translate them into specifications that can be used to build the claims metrics database, build metadata and transform data.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and management of database, analytical tools and reports.
- Perform special projects and duties as assigned.
- Research data issues as identified in analysis on reporting data content.
- Analysis and verification of reported data.
- Preparation of reports and results of data analysis and collection. Includes graphs and charts to visually indicate performance. Extracts data from various sources. Maintains data integrity of reported data.
- Acquisition and transformation of data received from other parties.
- Provide analysis and documentation to support all reporting requests.
- Assist in identification of reporting system inefficiencies.
- Define and write business requirements for report development.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
A successful candidate will have:
- 4-year degree in Information Technology or Business Administration.
3+ years experience with database management concepts, languages, tools and technologies.
- Previous training and experience with database management tools including SQL and Access.
- Familiarity with relational databases.
- Experience with query/reporting tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and Word.
- Ability to process and transform data from a variety of sources in a variety of formats.
- Ability to perform quality assessment of large quantities of data.
- Ability to execute reporting projects with minimal direction.
- Be a self-starter and demonstrated problem solving ability.
