Overview:
This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling auto, property damage and bodily injury claims for Western United Insurance while exercising sound judgment and complying with the Fair Claims Practices.



Responsibilities:

Analyze first reports to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and elimination of coverage questions expediently.
Maintain an active diary.
Promptly contact insured to conduct investigation of all aspects of reported claim and secure supporting documentation.
Properly document all developments in claim file.
Stay current with new mail and related correspondence.
Adhere to all statutory regulations and Fair Claims Practices.
Negotiate settlements with policyholders, claimants, or their representatives.
Complete and submit formal reports in a timely manner.
Provide accurate and timely reserve information.
Recognize and pursue recovery potential and fraudulent claims.
Effectively control the expenses of outside vendors.



Qualifications:

2 to 5 years experience processing property damage and bodily injury claims.
Effective oral and written communications skill.
Must possess strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Demonstrate telephone etiquette skills.
Basic familiarity with computers, including Microsoft Window applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point).
