Overview:
This position is responsible for supervising staff involved in the investigation, processing, and resolution of claims for Western United Insurance. Working in partnership with staff while actively coaching and guiding their development.
Responsibilities:
Review new losses; provide feedback and guidance to staff relative to productivity, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction. Assist employees with insureds, agents, and support staff in resolving problems and questions, as well as appropriate follow up. Monitor workload within unit. Maintain attendance records. Annually complete and administer performance appraisals to all direct reporting staff members. Diary files to ensure claims are thoroughly investigated; company procedures, DOI regulations and Fair Claims Practices are followed and claims are handled in a timely manner. Review mail within the unit. Review all payments over examiners authority.
Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and claims procedures. Strong decision making, leadership and motivational skills. Ability to negotiate effectively. Highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Operating mainframe/PC equipment including Microsoft Window applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, & Power Point). Professional appearance and manner.
