Industrial Reporter (#6.06)

DEPARTMENT: Occupational Health







SCHEDULE: Part-time Temporary (Temporary for 6 months, from July 2006 to December 2006); 32-40 hours/week; Days Shift; Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.







EDUCATION: High school graduate, some college preferred.







CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: N/A.







QUALIFICATIONS:







Knowledge of Worker's Compensation system essential; one to two years experience as either an industrial reporter, claims assistant, or billing coder required. Must be able to decipher physician handwriting and extract information from a variety of sources including written and electronic medical records. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Accurate spelling required. Good orgainzational skills and knowledge of automated computer/data entry systems. Must be able to understand and carry out oral/written directions, analyze, make decidions, and carry out job duties with minimal supervision. Must maintain professional conduct tin include dealing courteously, tactfully and patiently with both internal and external clients. Must demonstrate evidence of excellent attendance.







SKILLS TESTING: Microsoft word processing / Typing 45wpm/ 10 key adding by sight / Medical Terminology certificate or testing required.







DUTIES:







Temporary position will research approximately 600 workers compensation cases which have had liens filed; orders files, possibly from storage; performs medical record, CIPS data entry review; creates the DFR and enters into the Bedrock data system; processes the necessary paperwork to support the claim; includes mailings; faxing to carriers; other duties as assigned as required by dept or other regulatory requirements.
