WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for professionals with retail, call center, inside/outside sales, customer service, insurance, claims or agency experience preferred.

Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree a plus.
Capability to effectively analyze and assess customer inquires and achieve sales goals.
1-3 years sales experience required.
Knowledge of the sales process.
Candidate must possess strong computer skills and ability to navigate in a windows based environment.
Ability to adjust and succeed in a rapidly changing call center environment.
Ability to multi-task is critical in this position.
Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) a plus - not a requirement.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

This position resides within the call center and operates in a team-based environment.

Sales Agent responsibilities include:
Taking inbound phone calls from AARP members requesting insurance to meet their homeowner and automobile insurance needs.
Provide quotations and counseling on insurance coverages.
Applying and adhering to appropriate underwriting guidelines to determine customer eligibility and utilizing a professional sales model.
Candidates will demonstrate an expertise in cross-selling products and services as they relate to customer needs.
Works within established, measurable, call center metrics.
NO COLD CALLING!
Must successfully complete an intensive 8 week training program and pass the Property & Casualty licensing exam. We will help our employees study for the California Property and Casualty license during training.

WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?

At The Hartford, our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay competitive base salaries and we reward performance. The base salary for this position ranges from $26,600 to $31,000, PLUS an individualized sales bonus program and a 5% differentially for working the later shift .

In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including medical insurance (eligibility begins on the first day of employment), a 401K plan, and employee Stock Purchase Plan. Paid training, and shift differential available.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS POSITION?

Our next paid training class begins on October 30, 2006 .

Training hours are 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Shift hours are 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

You need to plan on being here for approximately 2 hrs. We schedule assessments at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM Monday through Friday.
