National Account Manager

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Strong financial account management experience and documented successes. Minimum two to three years national account experience (Account Management or Underwriting).
Group Life Health Sales license required. Has working knowledge of the market segment, industry, GBD products and services and primary medical / disability product connectivity and associated financial / underwriting acumen.
4 year college degree required or equivalency.
Preferred advanced graduate degree and/or HIAA/CEBS.
Financial / underwriting acumen - technical knowledge and analytical skills with effective presentation capabilities.
Intimate knowledge of service standards and processes.
Customer Orientation - conveys a commitment to providing responsive customer service and strategic relationship engagement.
Takes Ownership - takes immediate and independent action suggests improvements, sets high standards and works diligently to achieve segment objectives.
Team Player - builds consensus, effective collaboration with all team disciplines, champions needed changes.
Effective writing and communication skills - comfortable interacting with GBD Senior Leadership.
Develops effective relationships - interacts at all levels both within and outside the company.
Develops effective working relationships across organizational and corporate lines. Collaborates with other members of the organization to deliver results. Effective in negotiation and conflict resolution. Maintains a confident, intelligent and professional presence (including professional attire and attitudinal / knowledge requisites).

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Overall responsibility for managing a defined BOB regarding the implementation of sold business, on-going Account Management including pre-sales finalist sales primary support.
Responsibility also includes resolving customer inquires, actively supporting enrollment and growth with direct engagement in the renewal processes.
Proactively coordinates the renewal process for assigned cases. Confidently leads explanations requiring financial analysis and provides explanation in rate formulation and contract modifications / alternatives. Direct engagement with the Relationship Executive required.
Works closely with Underwriting and Relationship Executives in developing analysis and client presentation of financial information and proposing recommendations. Plays an active role regarding interface with primary decision-makers (Senior HR leaders, CFO, or COO) and National Practice leaders/Producers working with the Relationship Executive.
Coordinates renewal requirements for assigned cases working with client consultant and other internal support disciplines including Claims and Underwriting with the objective of ensuring efficient case processing and adequacy in financials.
Primary liaison between customer, underwriter and internal administration ensuring customer needs are addressed. This also includes client consultant, claims administration, billing and sales.
In collaboration with Relationship Executive, actively participates in presentations with National Practice Leaders, key Producers or clients to achieve case profitability and growth objectives.
Assists in maintaining accurate financial and general account databases. Identify customer data information needs and works with all team associates to achieve information integrity and provide accurate customer analysis.
Coordinates premium assurance customer financial audits with Underwriting with support from Relationship Executive.
Works with Relationship Executive, sales, product marketing, underwriting, claims and other disciplines to further demonstrate our value proposition to customers and producers.
Effective knowledge of competitor Life / Disability players, products / provisions and overall philosophy with the ability to leverage our competencies to further support profitability and sales objectives.
Active pre-sales & finalist customer engagement - assessing both general financial and relationship / infrastructure to support sales effort.
Working with Relationship Executive, pursues employee absence ROI / disease management and other initiatives required to address employer financial objectives.
Engaged in corporate financial risk analysis (balance sheet / income statement / solvency / profitability etc.).
