WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This candidate should have a minimum of 5+ years working in the actuarial profession or a math related field. Strong analytical skills, an ability to work independently, effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities are important skills for this job. In addition, the ability to solve business problems, creative problem solving and innovation are critical. A working knowledge of Word and Excel with the aptitude for querying software is a plus. Prior Personal Lines Experience is desirable but not required.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

The individual will be responsible for the management of the actuarial staff that supports multiple states within the South Central Region for Personal Lines Actuarial. These states combined will account for 15-20% of the workload for the South Central Region. This individual supports the South Central Region, and the Personal Lines Division, in achieving its 2006 Written Premium, Underwriting Income and Profitable Growth targets. Duties will include:

- Perform statewide analysis by state distribution channel, product and line of business.

- Work closely with Product Management to analyze trends in state results and solve key business problems.

- Participation in the development of new products and class plans for automobile distribution channels.

- Participation on strategic and tactical teams within the Personal Lines Division.

- Assistance in regulatory compliance.
