QAT Consultants form the foundation of this process by assessing and reporting on the accuracy and effectiveness of The Hartford's underwriting execution. QAT Consultants also compliment managements strategic objectives by identifying process and operational improvements; leveraging from their business acumen to correct them; identifying the financial Impact of Quality (IQ); and ultimately improving The Hartford's results through coaching, mentoring and training of individual underwriters.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate is a proven performer with a solid background in standard commercial lines insurance underwriting and sales. Candidates should also possess strong interpersonal, sales and negotiation skills, which enable them to maximize their knowledge. QAT Consultants need strong automation skills and the desire to take responsibility and accountability to work in an environment with high authority levels.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Within QAT, Consultants will:
Provide consistent, independent and objective assessments of written business.
Coach, mentor & develop individuals through continuous feedback.
Have a thorough understanding of and exposure to Middle Markets field organization, including the Home Office and supporting operations.
Have continuous exposure to senior management.
Hone their leadership, negotiation, supervisory and decision making skills.
Broaden their sales and marketing skills by managing and communicating the QAT process.

With solid commercial lines underwriting experience and the factors described above, QAT Consultants have tremendous organizational visibility and are well positioned for upward movement within the QAT, Middle Market or other units of The Hartford. QAT is more than just a consulting organization. We are committed to the development and grooming of top talent individuals for future leadership positions. To facilitate this mission, we establish customized development plans for each consultant to enhance and perfect their existing skill-set. Additionally, certain candidates will be eligible for participation in our P&C Mastery Program. Graduates of this program will attain underwriting and operational proficiencies in Select Customer, Select Xpand, Middle Market, Risk Management Division, Alternative Markets, Individual Risk, Bond, Marine, Personal Lines and Loss Control.

QAT Consultants may be required to travel approximately 25% of the time to conduct onsite reviews and other consultative projects as needed.
