Senior Underwriter - C/L

We are currently looking for a Senior Underwriter - Commercial Lines Technology
to join OneBeacon Insurance in Anaheim, CA. As Senior Underwriter you will be
responsible for providing advanced underwriting, technical support, and service
to assigned agents, handling more complex underwriting issues and assignments.
You will monitor and evaluate results of assigned agents in an assigned
territory and recommend/implement action plans for improvement of underwriting
results to ensure profit and growth objectives are achieved.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Managing profitable agency relationships by evaluating results and conducting
portfolio reviews for assigned territory and individual agencies. You will be
assigned one or more key agents.
2. Continuously examining, identifying and evaluating complex exposures by
analyzing documentation from various sources (e.g. application, inspection
reports, credit reports, etc.) and making underwriting decisions to accept,
decline, or modify risks with assigned territory.
3. Collaborating with team members to manage work inventories and all production
activities to provide accurate and timely service in accordance with corporate
standards.
4. Developing positive working relationships with agents, and with internal and
external partners, to successfully promote achievement of mutual operating goals
and to supply the appropriate products and services.
5. Gathering and analyzing competitor information and agent specific reports on
assigned agents' new business flow, retention, profitability and potential, to
support territorial rate reviews.

Required Skills & Abilities:
You must be fully versed in insurance contracts, state insurance laws, corporate
underwriting positions, and corporate agency management philosophy.

Education and Experience Preferred:
We are looking for a Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of commercial lines
underwriting experience in the technology sector. Professional insurance
designation is preferred.
