Senior Underwriter - IMU

We are currently looking for a Senior Underwriter to join OneBeacon Insurance
Company in San Francisco, CA.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Evaluates risks for acceptance, rejection, modification or referral in
accordance with established underwriting standards, authorities, policies, and
programs, through exact pricing and risk selection of new and renewal marine
business.
· Reviews loss prevention inspection, credit, audit risk control loss
experience, and claim reports to ensure thorough evaluation of new and renewal
accounts.
· Takes prompt actions when deficiencies are noted.
· Performs policy preparation duties, including assisting underwriting and
claims service units where necessary.
· Remains aware of current underwriting techniques and standards.
· Assists in special projects, producer reviews and meeting preparations, as
necessary.

Required Skills & Abilities:
Involvement in AMIM program. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software
including current Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook,
Excel, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs.

Education and Experience Preferred:
Minimum 10 years Marine underwriting experience. Bachelor's degree or
demonstrated experience is required.
