WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Hartford's San Francisco office seeks qualified, experienced individual for a Support Services Assistant position. We are looking for a self starter who requires minimal supervision. Qualified candidates will posses a high degree of professionalism and customer focus. In addition, they will have the ability to comunicate effectively (written & verbal) and have the ability to take ownership for accomplishing tasks and solving problems effectively. Working knowledge of Office PC software applications and the ability to learn new applications is required. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in being proactive and have a strong willingness to learn. Insurance industry experience a plus.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITES OF THE POSITION?

This position provides a wide variety of support in conjuction with other department team members for the general office and the sales & underwriting staff including (but not limited to):
Managing the mailroom including express mail, incoming/outgoing faxes and photocopies.
Operating switchboard by handling & routing incoming calls properly.
Greeting onsite visitors.
Coding, processing & researching invoices.
Providing clerical support: report ordering, account input, filing, copying, collating, etc.
Providing report development, analysis & distribution to management & sales staff.
Preparing professional presentations and providing assistance for office events & meetings.
Working with building/facilities management and other vendors.
Handling pool car administration.
Gathering & shipping outgoing policy files to appropriate locations.
Ordering supplies and allocating expenses.
Scheduling Videoconference & LCD projectors.
Maintaining office equipment.
Ensuring employee building access through proper assignment of passes, keys and administration of security systems.
Arranging for appropriate and timely vending machine maintenance.
Handling telephone directory maintenance.
Providing some backup support to systems administrator functions.
Providing other assistance to facility and Health, Environment & Safety (HE&S) activities.

WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION OPPORTUNITY?

At the Hartford, our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay competitive base salaries and reward performance. The base salary for this position ranges from $30,000 to $40,000. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance, a 401K Plan, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan and more.
