WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Qualified candidates will have the following requirements:




5+ years Underwriting experience with Professional Liability products, ideally D&O
Prior people management or mentorship experience required
Market connections and demonstrated knowledge of the broker community required
Demonstrated analysis and research skills required
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required
Ability to travel is required
Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree required



WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Achieve New Business and Renewal Retention objectives by spending 100% of the time engaged in production activities, including frequent (2-3 days per week) travel to assigned agents, build relationships, deliver value proposition, uncover new business opportunities and cross-sell existing Property and Casualty business/relationships. Increase Hartford's penetration of Private Company Management Liability by becoming number 1, 2 or 3 management liability insurer for target agency(ies).
Effectively manage Agents/Brokers for optimum results and partner-like behavior.
Underwrite and set terms & conditions for all new and renewal Private Company Management Liability risks including Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity and Kidnap & Ransom. Refer all other D&O/E&O lines to appropriate Underwriter.
Develop and maintain extensive and broad based knowledge of The Hartford's strategic direction as well regional office operating plans.
Develop territorial business plan and by focusing on agency-specific sales initiatives.
Communicate, market and provide training to agents and their staff on new developments and products within this industry segment; assist them in their sales efforts by providing them with leads and any other specific information they may need.
Continuously develop and strengthen the skills required for success in the sales underwriting position and to prepare for additional responsibility, including managing a sales team as the region.
