Media Sales Professional

Yahoo! is looking for a dynamic, strategic, savvy Media Sales Professional to join our team. This role will primarily be responsible for the generation and selling of online advertising and revenue for Yahoo! Inc.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online and/or traditional media sales at a top publisher or Media Metrix site. Responsibilities include meeting target revenue goals in the defined region. We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing client base. You must be results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to creating new business opportunities. The Media Sales Professional is expected to understand and be able to articulate the overall business objectives of the Yahoo! sales organization, and the Yahoo! value proposition to the advertising community.

Candidates MUST have a deep understanding of the Los Angeles market with a strong client and agency rolodex.

Responsibilities:

- Proactively Prospect, Qualify, Grow, and Maintain a regional territory account list
- Engage and strategize with senior level executives at client companies to demonstrate how Yahoo! can drive revenue to their business
- Develop and cultivate deep relationships with client senior executives at SVP, VP and CMO levels.
- Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
- Hit target revenue quota (quarterly)
- Pitch new business to advertising agencies and direct clients
- Proactively provide smart client research and industry specific information
- Update and create sales proposals.

Qualifications:

- 8+ years of Media Sales experience
- Relationships with top marketing decision makers at traditional companies and agencies
- Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships
- Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery (at a 7-figure level)
- Ability to convert clients national TV dollars spends into Yahoo marketing relationships
- Understand how technology works and the ability to explain in ordinary terms
- BA/BS
