Position: Inventory Manager, Yahoo!
Location: Yahoo! HQ in Sunnyvale, California
The Inventory Manager will plan and conduct thorough, accurate analyses in support of company wide pricing & yield management (PYM) initiatives. The job will entail providing operational support to the Pricing & Yield Management group in actively managing the inventory available for monetization and in specifying & delivering changes to systems and processes as required.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in quantitative analysis and/or data-driven decision making. The candidate will demonstrate a blend of business and technical skills and a successful track-record of applying quantitative decision-making techniques in a business-setting.

This is a highly-visible role within Sales Operations and offers excellent opportunities for career advancement. Key job responsibilities will include:
1) Active Inventory Management
a. Promoting existing and new advertising inventories to increase the overall yield with a focus on under-monetized placements; communicate inventory availability; Proactively working with Media Sales regions/categories to develop solutions; Work with alternate Sales channels to increase yield
b. Develop/modify business processes for scaling manually managed advertising opportunities, e.g., exclusive buys, Sponsorships; Develop/modify policies; Develop specifications for systems enhancements
c. Developing standard metrics to monitor inventory availability, utilization, opportunity costs and monetization; Developing a metrics-based decision framework for assessing inventory opportunities
2) Identifying opportunities for PYM operating model(s) and process enhancements and working with the broader PYM team to get changes implemented
3) Consulting with Management, Sales, Client Services, and various Business Unit stake-holders on Pricing and Inventory issues

Job requirements include:
Education: BS/BA in a Science / Engineering or related quantitative discipline is desired but not required; MBA/MS is a plus
Experience: 5-7 years professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in strategic consulting and quantitative analysis in an operational role; Prior experience at Media / Technology / Online companies is a plus
Solid business sense: Solid understanding of business practices and effective business process design; previous experience with quantitative analysis is required
Technical: Proficiency in Excel, Access, and other data analysis tools is a critical requirement for success on the job
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Must be articulate and have the ability to present results of complex analyses clearly and to interface with cross-functional teams at all levels of seniority
