RealNetworks, Inc. has a position open in Seattle for a Business Development Director within our Intellecutual Property team.
As the Business Development Director of IP, you will drive content and third-party distribution of Real s IP and service. You will be responsible for all aspects of deal development V prospecting, sourcing negotiating and closing. You will also participate in ongoing strategic partner relationship management to ensure future success. You will play a key role in contributing to product and strategy development efforts. You will identify revenue opportunities utilizing the companies intellectual property. You will create new channels to market and sell our various IP related technologies to businesses not currently using them. You will work with Counsel to establish the company s Intellectual Property strategy, program objectives and infrastructure.

Qualified candidates will have:




Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; strong interpersonal skills.


Strong analytical and business skills, including data analysis to evaluate deal criteria and project deal ROI.


Ability to work with minimal supervision, find new opportunities to contribute, and proactively communicate status and progress.


Knowledge of and passion for the media industry, and ideally, contacts at major players in our industry.


Experience as an IP practitioner or experience in senior management managing an Intellectual Property function, preferably from a major technology company.

Required Experience:




This individual should have a minimum of 7-10+ years experience in media and/or high-technology content business development licensing, distribution and/or acquisition plus a MBA or JD.


Alternatively, this individual could have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in media and/or hi-tech content business development and IP development and a Bachelor s degree.


Internet industry experience is preferred.
