Engineering Manager, Developer Tools

Yahoo!'s Platform Engineering team is looking for an experienced
technical manager to lead a group of 5-6 engineers. This team is
responsible for building and supporting internal tools used by over
5000 engineers. Products this team develops include:

* Bugzilla bug-tracking system
* Package management and installation tool, analogous to APT
(Advanced Packaging Tool) and RPM (RedHat Package Manager)
* Internationalization workflow tool and template management system
* CVS (Concurrent Versions System)
* Perforce Software Configuration Management System
* Twiki (mod_perl-based wiki)
* GNU Makefile-based build system
* MovableType blog system

The manager will be responsible for project management, writing
specifications, defining deliverables and deadlines, setting
priorities, hiring, budgeting, and assessing performance of the team.

Basic Qualifications:
* 2+ years of people management experience
* Strong project management experience involving multiple products
* 5+ years of Perl and Unix experience
* Excellent leadership & communication skills
* A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Apache, MySQL and PHP
* Experience with a variety of Unix implementations (Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc)
